THE NUMBERBOARD

The Number Board is a simple inexpensive resource used in the teaching of numerous mathematical concepts at different class levels
It is a double sided board, having a hundred square on one side and a multiplication square on the other. It is made from EVA which is a durable and safe material.

The use of the Number Board in the classroom fits with the constructivist approach approach to mathematics learning as recommended in the Primary School Mathematics Curriculum 1999. While working with the Number Board, children become actively engaged in their own learning at their own level. Children construct meaning based on previous mathematical knowledge and skills.
The purpose of this book is to support teachers as they use The Number Board while teaching mathematics in the classroom. The Book includes teaching tips and ideas as well as classroom activities at each class level. These tasks are directly linked to the objectives of the Primary School Mathematics Curriculum (1999).
